WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION Grow Into Leadership is an interative workshop with the ‘soul purpose’ of equipping leaders (Chiefs and Members of Councils; Board Members) and their senior managers with the tools and strategies needed to guide their communities/organizations into the future. Develop a keen understanding of the key roles and responsibilities, whereby minimizing micro-management and increasing team work and collaboration. COURSE OBJECTIVES Explore the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Indigenous leaders in contemporary society. Develop a deep understanding of traditional Indigenous leadership principles and management practices and their relevance in modern governance contexts. Acquire practical skills and strategies for fostering community engagement, consensus-building, and effective decision-making within First Nations governance structures. Gain insights into effective communication techniques and conflict resolution strategies tailored to Indigenous leadership contexts. Cultivate a vision for sustainable development and self-determination within Indigenous communities, grounded in cultural values and principles. Foster effective collaboration among both levels of leadership (governance and management) whereby increasing success towards the achievement of goals. TAKE-AWAYS Through a blend of interactive lectures, case studies, and group discussions, this workshop aims to empower First Nations Chiefs & Councils and their Senior Managers to lead with confidence, integrity, and resilience, driving positive change and transformation within their communities.
