WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION The purpose of this workshop is to promote cultural understanding, appreciation, and respect for First Nation traditions, histories, and perspectives. Participants will gain insight into the rich diversity of First Nation cultures, learn about the historical and contemporary experiences of Indigenous peoples, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to engage in meaningful cross-cultural interactions. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Gain a comprehensive understanding of trauma, including its various forms, causes, and effects on individuals in the workplace. Learn to identify signs and symptoms of trauma in oneself and others within the workplace context. Explore how trauma can affect productivity, interpersonal relationships, and overall well-being in the workplace. Develop empathy and compassion towards colleagues who may have experienced trauma, fostering a supportive and understanding work environment. Learn practical strategies and approaches for creating a trauma-informed workplace culture that prioritizes safety, trust, and sensitivity to individual needs.
