CUSTOMIZED TRAINING

Collective Initiatives has an extensive working knowledge of the complexities and issues experienced by Indigenous people and brings content that is aligned with Indigenous cultural values and worldviews. We encourage the assistance of Elders and Leadership participation in the development of the workshop agenda.

While we appreciate the benefits of modern technology and best practices in the workplace, there is also a deep respect and emphasis on Indigenous cultural practices and beliefs.

Collective Initiatives will work with you to identify specific topics and develop training modules that are unique to your needs. Pricing shall be based on the duration of the workshop, amount of participants in attendance and time needed for its development.

MAKING LEARNING FUN!

Icebreakers and energizers are a part of every learning experience

One of our strongest gifts as Indigenous people is our humour.  Our ability to laugh restores balance.  While we may cover serious topics and have in-depth discussions, Collective Initiatives knows how to read a crowd and raise the energy levels when appropriate. Laughter truly is the best medicine!

MNP

Drawing on expertise

I met Angie when she first started her role as Director of Operations at Shuswap Indian Band. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of a government organization can be overwhelming. In a First Nation, the stress is amplified due to capacity and resource constraints.  From day one, Angie demonstrated superior leadership in her role. She understood the role deeply; she was well organized; she communicated effectively; she developed and implemented policy; she understood the importance of planning; and, importantly, she understood that an organization is only as good as its people, so she made capacity development a priority. Lastly (but not least), Angie has an awesome personality! ~Jeff Swanhill, Senior Manager at MNP~

UCLUELET FIRST NATION

Helping us Achieve our Modern Day Treaty

Ucluelet First Nation first contracted Collective Initiatives to facilitate the development of a Community Services Department through strategic planning and teambuilding.  These steps helped us towards implementing our modern day Treaty.   We are grateful for Angela’s help as she brings professionalism and much heart and soul to the work she does and inspires us to reach our goals.  She embodies love, passion, and commitment.  She goes beyond her work as a consultant and cares about who we are as people.  She has become part of our extended family. ~Iris Frank, Director of Operations~

MUSHKEGOWUK COUNCIL

Lasting Impact

I have had the pleasure of working with and retaining the services of Collective Initiatives for the past ten years. Angela Sarsons is very caring, passionate, and industrious and takes her work assignments seriously. In my experience working with Angela, I found her to be competent, efficient and timely in completing projects. Just recently Collective Initiatives completed a challenging project for the Mushkegowuk Council by conducting consultations in remote, fly-in First Nation communities. Although this project had to be completed within a short time frame, they did it in a timely and professional manner. I would highly recommend Collective Initiatives for contracts that entail management, supervision, leadership workshops, strategic planning, and conducting consultations at the community level. ~Jean Sayers, Executive Director, Mushkegowuk Council~

Your heart and mind work well together to get intended results. It was always a joy to watch you work your magic with all levels of staff, Angie! You leave people feeling great about themselves and inspired to be their best! I believe it’s because good Spirits guide you”. ~Beth Ann Auger, Business Develoment Bank of Canada~

COUNCIL OF YUKON FIRST NATION

Connecting with her Audience

“I had the privilege of hearing Angie speak at the recent Infonex Human Resources for Aboriginal Organizations conference. She stood out as a speaker because she was able to present her topic in a relevant way, she spoke from her heart and she made it interactive. She had the most difficult time to present (the last time slot at the end of the day) but she was able to keep the attention of the audience and their interest. As well as presenting, Angie attended the conference. She was more than willing to share her expertise and experience with anyone. I would highly recommend Angie for a presenter at your next event big or small”. ~Roxanne LaCarte, Human Resources Manager~
